Is it just me? Can you feel the incredible sense of what Christmas is really about? I was reminded as I tucked all of my children in for bed tonight. It is routine that I lay with each child and pray with them, I may rub their backs or sing them a song (Caleb loves, "Here comes Peter Cotton Tail") but tonight was different. I was down to the last child (Caleb) who is the one with the most energy! The house was very quiet and still, then out of nowhere I hear the most angelic voice singing "Silent Night." As I listened I realized that it was my Charis, our daughter who will be turning 6 in February. Man how God uses His little ones! Her voice filled the upstairs of our home and my heart. She cut through the night and worshiped our Saviour King. I was reminded that He is the reason for this celebration we call Christmas.
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth "
